On a glimmering February night with my best friend, we took our brushes, paints, and wine, and leaned into a lengthy night of creation. I took an old canvas with a piece I wasn’t happy with, filled with colors I didn’t feel were mine. I looked at a photograph taken of me and my husband on our recent sabbatical in Australia. We looked happy, but our inner worlds in that photograph were glowing in colors. I wanted to paint what I saw, and for the next 10 hours later I gave birth to our self-portrait - and a first portrait I’ve ever painted.

This started an exploration of color, style, and celebration of characters. The collection is far from finished, but I’m proud to showcase the first inner worlds featured in it.
